A brand new denture service has opened up in Harrogate, run by an expert clinical dental technician with decades of experience.
Whether you need new dentures, replacements, repairs, or simply want to speak to someone because your dentures are causing you trouble, won’t stay in, or you’re not able to enjoy eating the food you love, then James at Harrogate Denture Clinic is here to help.
James Baker is a qualified clinical dental technician with over 20 years’ experience in the dental industry.
James can help find you the right solution. He also creates the dentures in the onsite dental laboratory right here in Harrogate.
James says: “A dedicated denture clinic allows us to provide treatment directly to patients, for all aspects of their denture needs. From the clinical review, the design and build stage to fit and aftercare. We offer high quality craftsmanship, for healthy natural looking dentures, with a wide range of denture solutions specifically designed to each individual.
“At Harrogate Denture Clinic we are committed to helping our patients feel comfortable and confident using their dentures.”

Dentures made and fitted in-house
Here at the clinic, which opened on Otley Road, in October, patients can have their dentures assessed, designed, made, fitted and adjusted all by the same person, under one roof. And all work is carried out with the knowledge that their comfort, satisfaction and confidence is paramount.
Anxious about dental visits?
James has a track record for a friendly, professional, honest and caring approach to his patients.
James pays particular attention to those who may be nervous or apprehensive at the thought of visiting a dental setting.
He takes every effort to make sure his patients feel comfortable during their denture journey.
James says: “Keeping patients informed throughout the process can help those who feel nervous or anxious, in understanding what to expect and how long appointments will be, which can help lessen some of the worries.”
Where this might be you, we encourage you to come along for a free consultation to see what you think and go from there.
There is never any pressure with the free consultation. It’s an opportunity to see what it is you want and need, what solutions are available that will suit a patient’s needs and budget.
Harrogate Denture Clinic has made every effort to ensure the clinic is as calm and welcoming as possible, to put patients at their ease.
Home and residential setting visits
For those who cannot travel to the clinic, or are too anxious, arrangements can be made to do visits to a patient’s home – this includes care homes or other residential settings.
Working with families
James appreciates that sometimes family, carers or friends may be part of a patient’s support network and are used to working with patient advocates where that’s necessary – whilst at the same time ensuring that the patient is fully informed and happy with treatment
Free consultation
You may know exactly what you need – a new set of dentures, support with loose-fitting dentures or to switch to a different type of denture – or you may simply want to be advised of options and costs to weigh up the pros and cons for yourself.
Either way, James offers a free consultation to discuss these options. If patients still have some standing teeth, or certain medical conditions, then the clinic may need approval from your dentist – Harrogate Denture Clinic is used to managing these instances and are ready to support where this is needed.
How long does it take?
Once the patient has made their choice and decided to go ahead with a treatment plan, then James will first take mouth impressions – this may require another appointment or might be done there and then.
The next step, around a week later, will be the first fitting to ensure the new dentures both look and feel right for you. If further adjustments need to be done for a perfect fit, then James will make those final adjustments.
The whole process can take between three to six weeks, depending on the patient's availability, treatment plan and requirements.
Faster turnarounds are available, just get in touch to see how Harrogate Denture Clinic can help.
Aftercare
Any dentures made by Harrogate Denture Clinic, will be covered by their aftercare policy for up to a year, and should patients have any problems or need minor adjustments, this can be done.
