Harrogate Town Football Club: Manager urges supporters to get behind their town in EFL survival battle

Get your scarves out and come and cheer on your local football team to help them secure a sixth year in the English Football League, as the manager puts out an impassioned plea to the town to help cheer on the team in a ‘dogfight’ to avoid the drop.
Harrogate Town has the longest serving manager in the whole football league – having been at the helm an impressive 16 years. Five of the players, including fan favourite goalie James Belshaw, have been at the club through thick and thin – rising up from the days when they were a non-league club.

Now James has clocked up his 250th appearance, and the club is hoping to make it to a sixth season in the EFL – but your support could make all the difference as the team steps out for some tough games in the coming weeks.
Currently sitting above the relegation zone, the team has some crucial battles ahead and is calling on fans old and new to rally behind them and give them some rousing home support.
Manager Simon Weaver said: “Every game between now and the end of the season is a big one for us and we’ve got to show the passion we have for the club, that’s the least the fans deserve.
“As a coaching staff we have a lot of confidence in this group of players, as well as pride in the club and we’re determined to finish the season strong to retain our status in the Football League.
We’re in a dogfight to retain our place, something we are incredibly proud of, but to sustain that we need your passionate support, just like we have had all season.
Fans have already been rallying round the club, with crowds of around 3,000 helping to make some noise at the home ground The Exercise Stadium. With great value ticket options (and a special price of just £10 for adults for the April 1 game against Tranmere) it’s a fun treat for all.
