Ripon response to McDonald’s food appeal is fantastic

An appeal for donations of food for needy families has been met with a ‘fantastic’ response.

Cheri Weidemann, People Manager at Ripon McDonald’s, put up a post on facebook on behalf of the firm’s branch asking for food donations for the Salvation Army and Foodbank.

“The responses were fantastic,” said Cheri who said the organisations are handing out food supplies to people who are struggling financially during lockdown.

“We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of the lovely people of Ripon and McDonald’s staff.

“Due to the wonderful response we will continue doing this in the hopes of helping the community and families of Ripon even more.

“First boxes were recently delivered after every item had been cleaned down.”

Cheri added: “Thank you so much all for your continued support.”

McDonald’s also donated face masks, a bottle of sanitiser and individual sanitiser wipes in each box.

Cheri added that McDonald’s is going to continue collecting items for the two organisations.
