These fascinating photos show how the grounds that are home to Yorkshire’s football teams have evolved over more than a century.
After Leeds United got the go-ahead to expand their capacity to 53,000, we’re looking back at how Elland Road and other major Yorkshire stadiums used to look.
This retro photo gallery captures changes throughout the decades at grounds including Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane stadium, Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough home and Barnsley’s Oakwell ground.
It also shows the old stadiums that hold so many memories for fans, both good and bad, like Hull City’s Boothferry Park home, Doncaster Rovers’ former Belle Vue stomping ground, and Millmoor, which was home to Rotherham United.
Do these photos bring back any memories for you, and what do you think about how these stadiums have changed over the years?
