Full list of John Lewis stores reopening in the UK next week - and the rules for shoppers
Non-essential shops across England were permitted to reopen from Monday (15 June), as the UK government continues to ease restrictions.
While several high street stores immediately reopened their doors to swathes of customers, other retailers have adopted a more phased approach, including John Lewis.
When will more stores reopen?
John Lewis has announced plans to open a further nine of its stores on Thursday (25 June), after the successful reopening of 13 locations this week.
The department store began a phased opening of its 50 UK outlets on Monday (15 June), with sites in Kingston, Cambridge, Horsham and Nottingham among those that are now welcoming customers.
A further nine of its stores will reopen across the UK on Thursday 25 June, including sites in Leeds, Liverpool, Milton Keynes and York.
What stores will be open from 25 June?
This is the full list of John Lewis stores that will reopen to customers on Thursday 25 June:
- Cribbs Causeway, Bristol
- Milton Keynes
- Peter Jones, London
- Tunbridge Wells
These are the UK stores that are already open:
- High Wycombe
What rules will shoppers have to follow?
The retailer has said that some of its stores will increase the number of customers that are allowed into each shop at any one time, after bosses found social distancing was possible to maintain.
Most services will be available to customers in-store, although close contact beauty services will still remain closed.
Customers will be offered hand sanitiser when they enter and signage will be in place throughout to help shoppers stay at least two metres apart.
Branches will also undergo regular and rigorous cleaning and there will be new ‘contactless’ drop boxes for items that need returning, with the stores’ returns policy now extended up to 35 days for refunds.
Reopened stores will have toilet and baby changing facilities open, but fitting rooms will remain closed.
Customers will also still be able to touch products, lie on beds, and try on and test wipeable products, such as sunglasses, prams and tech items.
