This company is offering dance classes on Facebook live – here’s how to take part

DanceSing has become the latest company to lend a hand to self-isolators by broadcasting some of its classes online.

The past weeks have seen live streamed concerts, bedtime stories and celebrity pep talks in an attempt to keep morale up among those who are trapped inside due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

With many regular gym-goers unable to perform their usual workouts, some companies are looking to help people keep fit during the coronavirus shutdown.

Here’s how danceSing’s online classes work

What is danceSing?

In its own words, “danceSing is the inclusive, intergenerational, feel-good singing experience.”

By combining the music with fitness in a community setting, the company aims to help members improve both their physical and mental well-being. All ages and ability levels are welcomed, with members invited to use danceSing as a way to socialise with their friends, maintain their fitness or some combination of the two.

The company’s website says “Our members are warmly welcomed and are encouraged to pursue their own journey of fun, fitness and friendship.

As many will be unable to attend classes in person due to the coronavirus outbreak, danceSing announced that it will be live streaming some of its classes.

The first of these took place at 8pm on Monday 16 March, providing a vocal training session via the company’s members Facebook page. This was followed by Strength and Stretch Pilates session at 9am the following day.

More livestream classes are planned - for full details, go to the danceSing website.

How much does it cost?

DanceSing offers three kinds of membership:

- Single Class Membership (£12 per week) – access to any one class each week- Two Class Membership (£15 per week) – access to any two classes each week (add a second class and save 38 per cent)- Unlimited Class Membership (£18 per week) – access to unlimited classes each week (add a third class and save at least 50 per cent)

Members can choose to pay either monthly or by term (each year is divided into four danceSing terms), ensuring that they can create a system which works for them.

An “unlimited taster week” is also available for £12, providing full access to all danceSing classes across all of their locations for a week – ideal for those who are curious about danceSing but unwilling to commit to a membership right of the bat.
