Can anyone tell me the thinking behind the hideous gathering over this weekend in Valley Gardens which apparently masquerades as a family food festival?
To my mind these are normally splendid occasions with lots of diverse foods and local produce - the one in Leyburn being a fine example.
What we saw here was gluttony on a plate namely a collection of burger and pizza vans. Is this what Harrogate wishes to associate itself with?
Is the council so short of money that it will prostitute itself in such a way?
I can not recall seeing such an unattractive event in such an attractive location.
I know we doctors are often accuse of being killjoys but come on, surely we can do better than this.
