I would like to thank all those who attended the meeting of the Harlow and Pannal Ash Residents’ Association at the Green Hut on Thursday evening.
The packed-to-overflowing meeting heard warm tributes paid to Terry Byrne, the former chairman who announced his retirement, and I would like to add my own thanks for his long service and hard work over the last 20 years.
The future of the association had been cast in doubt following the loss of the past chairman, but I was very pleased that so many came forward to form a new committee.
The Local Plan proposals for massive new housing will present us all with huge challenges in the very near future.
I would also like to thank Coun Jim Clark for his strong support for the work of the association and to the many local people who wrote in support but were unable to come on the night.
A positive and encouraging result given the uncertainties of the past year.
