Harrogate Borough Council (HBC), acting on a suggestion from the public, has invited interested parties to Bilton and Woodfield Library on Monday, August 3 between 4pm and 7pm.

There is currently an outdoor table tennis table in the Games in Parks area of Harrogate’s Valley Gardens.

Coun Stanley Lumley, Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport at HBC, said: “The council’s aim is to provide everyone in the district with the opportunity to take part in some kind of sport or physical activity and support individuals to maximize their ability.

“Table tennis fits right in with this aim, as it is one of those sports that can be played by people of all ages and abilities.

“The outdoor table tennis table has been a popular addition to the games on offer at Valley Gardens and we now want to see if the people of Woodfield think it is an attractive proposition for them.”

There will be a survey that people can fill in at the consultation evening on Monday.

Anyone who can’t make it along to the consultation evening will still have a chance to give their views on the plans as the survey is also currently online at www.harrogate.gov.uk/sportsdevelopment and paper copies can be picked up from Bilton and Woodfield Library.
