Talented young singers from Harrogate will be supporting the winners of Britain’s Got Talent when they perform in Harrogate this December.
Rock Up and Sing!’s Youth Choir will be performing with Collabro, the musical theatre group which won the ITV talent show in 2014 and has gone on to become a successful act, touring both the UK and US and performing around the world.
The Youth Choir will join the group for the final date of their 2017 tour when it comes to Harrogate Convention Centre on Saturday, December 2.
Choir director Rhiannon Gayle said: “We were absolutely thrilled to be contacted by Collabro and invited to join them for their Harrogate date.
“They’re a hugely successful group not just in the UK but internationally, so it’s a real honour for our Youth Choir to sing with them. We’re already working hard on the two pieces we’ll be performing with them and we can’t wait to welcome them to Harrogate in just a few weeks’ time.”
It’s not the first time that Rock Up and Sing!’s Youth Choir has been recognised by high profile performers. They were previously invited to perform with Jonathan Antoine, who himself was a finalist in Britain’s Got Talent.
This year’s performance with Collabro will be the highlight of a busy autumn and winter schedule for the young singers. They will also be taking part in the Big Switch-On of Harrogate’s Christmas lights in November, along with a performance for guests at the Cairn Hotel just before Christmas.
Rhiannon has also arranged a trip to see vocal group Voces8 perform in Manchester, helping them to further improve their technique and performance.
She added: “we have a busy term ahead, with lots of rehearsals and performances on the horizon. All the Youth Choir members are incredibly excited about the next few months – I know they’ll make the most of every opportunity in front of them.”
