Hitching a lift in the DeLorean were Guy Fawkes, a Star Wars Stormtrooper and a fire-glow juggler, who will all play a part in Kaboom, on October 31.

The time-machine and its unusual passengers surprised visitors to Castle Howard as organisers welcomed them to the grounds as part of preparations for the event. The main feature of the blockbuster event, which celebrates the best of Hallowe’en and bonfire night, is an explosive firework spectacular synchronized to a stirring medley of Bond theme tunes.
