Thousands of tennis fans gathered on Harrogate’s Montpellier Hill yesterday to witness Andy Murray’s moment of glory at Wimbledon.
There were great cheers of celebration as the champion, the first British winner in 77 years, made history and beat the world’s number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
Around 2,000 people gathered on the hill in Harrogate to witness his win on a giant cinema screen set up for the occasion, as part of the Harrogate International Festivals.
