Will it be T-Shirt Weather at this year’s Leeds Festival?

It’s the age old question that haunts festival goers’ preparation every year - will it be flip-flops or wellies weather?

This weekend thousand of music lovers will flock to Bramham Park to watch their favourite bands but before they can even think about that, they need to know what to pack.

While the 10 tins of beans and 40 cans of Strongbow aren’t particularly weather dependent, the anorak and the sun tan lotion definitely are so here is our last minute forecast.

Many people will have already been enjoying the calm in clear weather before Feed The Rhino kicks the action off in earnest on the Main Stage of Friday.

Despite a partially sunny day turning into a clear night tonight, the temperature is meant to drop quite quickly to 12 degrees for most of the night, a theme continuing over the weekend.

Friday should be relatively dry at the park with little need for a raincoat, however there is a slight threat of a shower around 2pm - so if you’re watching Against Me! or the Gaslight Anthem a jacket could be handy.

This should clear up relatively quickly in time for revellers to enjoy Kendrick Lamar and The Libertines in the dry with a similar outlook forecast for the Saturday.

No rain is predicted to ruin acts such as Palma Violets or Bastille and, for those who’ve dared to bring shorts, Panic! At The Disco at 4pm could be the perfect opportunity to sport these with temperatures rising to a weekend high of 19 degrees.

For the optimistic few who’ve brought sun tan lotion, Sunday is definitely not the day to be carrying it round with grey clouds predicted from Babymetal all the way until Metallica close the festival.

The last night out could be dampened by rain at around 1pm but it should be relatively clear once again by morning as music fans trudge out of the festival bliss and head back to reality.

So, if you’ve not packed yet, anoraks and wellies may not be necessary this year but sun tan lotion and flip-flops could prove just as useless.

T-shirts and shorts are the order the of the day at the main stage but, as Summer draws to a close, the temperatures are forecast to drop in the evening so make sure hoodies, jackets and potentially blankets are included in your packing.

As always, hope for the best, prepare for the worst and have an amazing Leeds Festival.
