Watch: Song for Christmas - Brackenfield Year 2

Today the Advertiser series launches its Song for Christmas.

And we start the feature, focusing on songs performed by children for their festive productions, with Brackenfield Year 2 singing That’s What Christmas Means to Me,

Each year, the Harrogate school’s Infants perform an original nativity play with music.

Creative team, Emilie Moon (director), Helen Leaf (musical director) and Maxine Thompson (choreographer) devise a festive musical which gives each child a chance to shine.

In this year’s magical production, children build a snowman and snow lady that come to life in order to find the real meaning of Christmas.

They are taken on a journey that eventually leads them to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus.

The title song That’s What Christmas Means to Me which was composed by Miss Leaf, and brings a message of peace and hope to our troubled world.

Schools still have time to send in submissions for Song for Christmas. Email the video footage as an mp4 file to [email protected], including the school, year and song title and description. Please also send a photograph of the group of performers as a jpeg file.
