The spring flowers are beginning to show themselves and the days are getting longer – is winter behind us? I don’t think that we ramblers are counting our chickens just yet!

We walk on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the year, and welcome new members who can join any of the walks for a trial without commitment.

On Sunday, February 9 there are two walks planned. The ‘B’ group meet at Stump Cross Caverns to start a 10 mile hike to Grimwith and Skyreholme, whilst the ‘C/D’ walkers start a six mile ramble in Ripon taking in Studley Park and Seven Bridges.

On Wednesday, February 12 there are five walks in the programme. The ‘A’ group travel over to Clay Bank to start a 14 mile hike on the Cleveland Way to Bilsdale Hall and Otter Hills, whilst the ‘B+’ members meet in Kirby Overblow to tackle a 13 mile ramble to Harewood Bridge, Sicklinghall and Spofforth. The ‘B’ group travel to Pateley Bridge to cover 11 miles taking in Wath, Heathfield, and Nought Moor, whilst the ‘C’ walkers meet at Beningborough Hall for a seven mile ramble around the nearby countryside and river bank. Meanwhile, the ‘D’ group start a six mile walk at Eccup Reservoir.
