Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler brought his first team squad for the first of Leeds’ pre-seaosn fixtures, and his stars were tested by Simon Weaver’s North Yorkshire outfit.

Cecil Nyoni scored for Town in the first half before Steve Morison levelled matters, but the scoreline was never likely to matter hugely for either side - these fans had come to see what lay in store in the season ahead.

And Town looked strong, buoyed by the high-intensity crowd, they were certainly a match for their illustrious oponents, proving a handful in the first half.

Naturally, Leeds piled on the pressure as the game wore on, but manager Weaver will be happy with his side’s guile in this draw.

Harrogate Town’s Managing Director Garry Plant said: “What a glorious night.

“There was a wonderful atmosphere in here tonight, and we’re proud to have the new stand open.”
