Harrogate Borough Council was forced to close the pool on Tuesday, July 28, after an extractor fan on a boiler became faulty.

However, following ongoing work from council contractors, the problem has now been resolved and the pool will re-open at 7.30am on Saturday, August 1.

Councillor Stanley Lumley, Harrogate Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport said: “I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to users of the swimming pool by the closure.

“The safety of our customers and employees is of paramount importance. We have been working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

“We know that swimming is extremely popular during the summer holidays and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to enjoy the fantastic facilities at Knaresborough Pool.”

During the pool’s closure, customers part of the swimming development scheme were forced to have their lessons suspended until the fault was repaired.
