UPDATE: Car smashes into building after two car collision in Harrogate town centre

A pedestrian was hit and a taxi smashed into the front of a building following a collision with another car last night (Wednesday).

The incident saw the grey Skoda taxi crash into the marble work of The Exchange office building on Station Parade just before 10pm on February 3.

A 26-year-old woman was also taken to A&E with minor injuries when she was knocked over during the collision.

Rosie Driffill was waiting to cross the road from The Exchange side when she was thrown across the pavement during the crash. She has now been released from hospital.

The other car involved, a silver Subaru Impreza, also suffered damage to the front left hand side of the vehicle.

Police were called to the scene at 9.54pm, where an ambulance also attended the incident.

Police say only minor injuries were suffered in the incident.
