The Under the Hammer column with Thompsons Auctioneers
Our Bank Holiday started with a visit from BBC’s “Antiques Road Trip” with experts David Harper and Angus Ashworth.
An eclectic mix of items was brought to the sale room ranging from a vintage trouser press to a Victorian officers dress sword.

We welcome them again on Friday 25 May with experts Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper and on Friday 22 June “Celebrity Antiques Road Trip” will be here – details of celebrities and experts to follow.
Do you have any items that you would like to include in one of these sales?
Why not bring them down to the saleroom on a Saturday 9.30am-4pm or a Monday 9am-5pm for appraisal.
How exciting would it be to see your lots on television?
