Mr Gration joined in, saying: “It has been wonderful to see how the Business Awards are growing in stature every year. The standards get higher, which is the way it should be!

“If you have never been tempted to have a go at these awards, then this is your year. You will be amazed at the impact a nomination has on your business. So please, have a go. You won’t regret it!”

The awards, which are sponsored by Harrogate estate agent Verity Frearson, are open to companies based in any of the circulation areas of the Harrogate Advertiser series, which include the whole of the Harrogate District – including Masham, Boroughbridge, Nidderdale, the Washburn Valley, and parts of the Vale of York – plus Wetherby, Boston Spa, Tadcaster and villages east of Leeds.

There are 12 categories to enter, and businesses may enter as many as they like, via the dedicated awards website at www.harrogatebusinessawards.co.uk.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering black-tie awards ceremony – hosted by Mr Gration – at Pavilions of Harrogate on Thursday, April 2.
