Young Harrogate man hurt in serious crash

A young man is in a serious condition in hospital after a car crashed into a tree on Arthur’s Avenue in Harrogate.

The 20-year-old local man, a passsenger in the blue BMW, received a serious neck injury after the crash at 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday).

Police say he was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition.

The driver, another 20-year-old local man, has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident. Police are now appealing for information.

“If you witnessed the collision or saw the BMW prior to the incident I ask that you contact the police straight away,” said TC Andy Macleod, of North Yorkshire’s Road Policing Group.
