Which Harrogate roads are set for jetpatching repairs?

Part of a £9.85 million funded pack of intiatives to address the state of the districts roads across 2018 and 2019 jetpatching is now being carried out on roads in Pannal and Harrogate. Work began today on Station Road in Pannal (July, 31).

According the North Yorkshire County Council crews will be able to carry out repairs in minutes, using high-volume air to remove dust and debris and then quickly seal seal cracks by firing a cold bitumen emulsion unto the potholes.

Although traffic management measures will be put in place NYCC have also said that it may require brief road closures for the work to be carried out.

County Councillor Don Mackenzie, executive member for highways, said: “The county council is continuing to invest in highway repairs in Harrogate by resurfacing, patching and surface dressing. Potholes are a concern and we know that this is shared by residents.

“Residents sometimes say that emergency patching of potholes is too temporary. In addition to its speed, the jetpatcher is claimed to extend the life of such a repair. We believe it will offer a cost-effective solution while minimising waste and maximising the speed of repairs.’

The work would require no excavation and the hole could be driven on immediately.

Spring Lane

St Winifred’s Road

Silverfields Road

Woodlands Avenue

Valley Mount

Claro Road

Ripon Road

Forest Lane

Fulwith Mill Lane.

Village show near Harrogate defies freak storm

County Councillor John Mann, who represents Harrogate Central, said: "This is good news for Pannal ward, along with other areas of Harrogate, and I'm pleased that the county council has responded to the points local councillors have been making recently about the condition of the road surfaces in our area."
