A 22-year-old Harrogate man was involved in a two-vehicle collision at North Rigton on Wednesday.

He was travelling as a passenger in a black Volkswagen van which collided with a blue Vauxhall Vectra at around 5pm on the A658 Harrogate to Bradford road, at a crossroads near the village.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall, from Middlesbrough, was also injured, however, both men suffered only minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment.

The Volkswagen had travelled along Dunkeswick lane, and the Vauxhall was travelling towards Pool-in-Wharfedale.

Traffic Constable Stuart Holden, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, I urge you to contact the police as soon as possible.”
