Police name couple killed on A61

A COUPLE who were taken to hospital following a collision on the A61 last week have both died in hospital.

Raymond John Dunn, 73, and his wife Gloria Dianne Dunn, 72, from South Stainley, were in a grey Subaru Outback which collided with a DAF lorry close to the Red Lion pub last Thursday, December 15.

Mrs Dunn was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where she later died. Her husband was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.

The lorry driver was not injured in the collision, which forced police to close the road for five hours between Quarry Moor and north Ripley.

An inquest into the couple’s deaths was opened and adjourned on Tuesday.
