New DalesBus service launches this weekend

A new double-decker bus service starts this Sunday from Wetherby to the heart of the Dales.

York Pullman will be running the service on behalf of DalesBus, a Community Interest Company, whose aim is to give people without cars the opportunity to access the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Paul Kirby, DalesBus volunteer, said: “We are fortunate that this new service starts in Wetherby because York Pullman is based just outside Rufforth.

“Better than that it will be a double-decker so we can enjoy the fantastic views from the top deck.”

The 875 route will go along the A58 so residents of Collingham, East Keswick and Scarcroft can take advantage of the trip to Upper Wharfedale.

Paul added: “It only takes a couple of hours to reach Grassington and folks can stay on and travel up to Buckden if they wish.

“All precautions for Covid 19 will, of course, be taken. This is a great chance for those who are feeling trapped in their homes to get out and about, enjoy the scenery and meet other friendly people. And it costs nothing for the elderly and disabled with ENCTS passes.”

The service starts on Sunday October 25 and runs until Easter 2021.

The bus leaves Wetherby at 8.30am and rover tickets are £10 for an adult or £18 for a family. More at: www.DalesBus.org
