Leeds Bradford Airport release video of new safety measures after coronavirus pandemic

A video has been released showing what it will be like to fly from Leeds Bradford Airport as flights begin again after the coronavirus pandemic.

Flyers will first go through a 'preparation zone'.

There the airport staff will ensure that people are social distancing and be on hand to provide hand sanitiser and face coverings.

Unless requested by Border Force or whilst eating and drinking, face coverings should be worn at all times.

Some passengers are not required to wear face coverings as advised by the government, including those under the age of 11

Temporarily, customers will not follow the usual route through the terminal building.

Staff will be on hand to guide people through the airport.

Security will be similar to normal with all liquids needed to be put into a bag.

Hand sanitisers will be subject to the liquid restrictions apply so ensure the bottle size is under 100ml.

Check-in will also be the same as normal, in line with Civil Aviation Authority requirements.

However, fast check will not be available due to social distancing measures.

Staff will also be wearing personal protective equipment such as visors, masks and gloves.

Bars and restaurants are closed at the moment, due to government guidelines.

However, snacks and PPE equipment can be purchased in vending machines after the security check in.

A pop-up cafe 'Flight Bites' is temporarily available in The Yorkshire Lounge offering take-away food and drinks.

The shops are currently closed.

Travel currency stores are also closed during this time, however, ATM machines will be available for GBP and EUR currencies.
