An appeal has been launched to find a driver involved in a collision with a 64-year-old man in central Harrogate.

At 7.30am this morning (Monday) a 64-year-old pedestrian suffered cuts to his face and grazed arms following the incident on Cornwall Road, near the Pump Rooms.

The driver stopped to briefly speak to the man, but drove off without leaving his details.

Paramedics treated the pedestrian at the scene.

The only description of the car is that it is either blue or black. The driver is white, aged in his fifties and has a stocky build.

Traffic Constable Andy Macleod, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you are the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, I urge you to contact the police straight away as I need to speak to you regarding this incident.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anyone who can help officers to progress this investigation should contact Harrogate police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy Macleod.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to Andy.macleod@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
