Cyclist hurt in Harrogate crash

A cyclist was taken to hospital in Harrogate after a head-on crash with a car on Skipton Road.

The man, in his 40s, was knocked down at the junction with King’s Road at 5.40pm on Thursday night.

Witnesses said he suffered shoulder injuries but stayed conscious, with a passing nurse stopping to help him at the scene until paramedics arrived.

Police say the driver of the Renault Clio, a 26-year-old woman from Harrogate, was unhurt.
