Knaresborough drivers will face major disruptions as Conyngham Hall car park is to be closed for major refurbishments.
Essential repairs will be carried out on the car park from Monday, March 13 and will last for up to three weeks. The council aim to complete the resurfacing of the entire car park and lining of parking bay to re-open the site by Friday, March 31.
Councillor Rebecca Burnett, Harrogate Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Sustainable Transport said: “Over the last few years, the council have undertaken refurbishment work on a number of car parks in Knaresborough including the complete resurfacing and relining of those located at Castle Yard and Chapel Street. We are now undertaking the resurfacing of Conyngham Hall car park.
“Regular users of the car park will know that the surface is in very poor condition and these works will significantly improve this popular car park for both residents and visitors to Knaresborough.
"The closure is necessary to ensure the works are completed both safely and efficiently and I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank users of the car park for their co-operation whilst we undertake these essential improvements, which we aim to finish as soon as possible.”
Alternative car parks can be located at Chapel Street Fisher Street, Castle Yard, York Place and Waterside, as well as on street car parking while repairs are ongoing.
