A1(M) to close between Wetherby and Boroughbridge as major resurfacing scheme gets under way
Motorists are being warned to expect overnight closures, lane restrictions and diversions as a resurfacing scheme gets under way on a major road in the Harrogate district this week.
Resurfacing works will take place on the A1(M) southbound between Junction 48 at Boroughbridge and Junction 46 at Wetherby from Thursday, June 5 until early July, National Highways has confirmed.
The scheme involves multi-layer deep inlay resurfacing to improve the condition of the carriageway.
To allow the work to be carried out safely, the southbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on June 5, 6 and 7.

Further overnight closures will then be in place on weekdays from June 8 for around four weeks, while daytime lane closures will also be required throughout the programme of works.
During the overnight closures, a signed diversion route will be in operation via the A168 and B1224.
Drivers are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys and plan ahead, particularly during the overnight closure periods.
