No injuries reported after major Kirk Deighton barn fire

Fire crews were forced to tackle a major blaze at two connected barns near Kirk Deighton on Saturday.

The blaze broke out at the industrial unit at Ingmanthorpe near Wetherby at around 8am with five fire crews forced to respond.

Crews from Knaresborough, Wetherby, Garforth, Tadcaster and Harrogate attended to battle the fire at the 50 metre barns.

Gas cylinders were removed from the fire but crews raised concern that the barn also contained a variety of farm vehicles.

Crews brought the fire under control using four water jets, small tools and pumping equipment as well as requiring six breathing apparatus.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that nobody was injured during the blaze and believe it had started accidentally.
