Two sets of roadworks will begin on Tuesday, May 8 and last until Sunday, May 27, one on the junction of Otley Road and Beckwith Road and another on Beckwith Road itself. A sign on Beckwith Road states it will be closed over this period.

Work at the junction is to continue the installation of water mains for new housing in the area, it is part of the first phase of this work with phase two expected to begin later this year. On Beckwith Road 70 meters of new water mains is also to be installed.

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: "Starting next week we will be carrying out work at the junction of Otley Road and Beckwith Road as part of the first phase of work to install new water mains for the new housing development nearby. At the same time as installing the new connection at the junction, we will also be installing around 70m of new water mains along Beckwith Road. This work will take around three weeks to complete and we would like to thank people for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."Further work will be taking place along Beckwith Road as part of phase one during the summer, but by laying part of the new water main now, we can avoid having to impact the junction during this part of the work, reducing the impact on people travelling along the road."
