Tractor Fest was a record breaker

Visitors flocked to the venue near Ripon on June 9 and 10 to see the displays of hundreds of vintage tractors, engines, commercial vehicles and cars.

This year’s event was a celebration of the centenary of John Deere tractors and two-cylinder tractors, as well as showcasing more than 150 Amanco (Associated Manufacturer’s Company) engines.

Highlights of the show included the popular March of the Tractors into Ripon Market Square on Saturday evening. The tractor march was well supported by the community with families gathering at the roadside en route.

The Tractor Fest is organised annually by the Yorkshire Vintage Association and sponsored by Europe’s leading agricultural and machinery auctioneer, Cheffins, as well as by Ripon Farm Services and Econ Engineering.

Kevin Watson was appointed chairman of the Yorkshire Vintage Association earlier this year after a five-year stint as a tractor steward for the show.

Mr Watson said: “We all look forward to Tractor Fest tremendously and the preparations for the next year’s show will begin immediately after the end of this one.

“The event wouldn’t be the success it is without our dedicated team of stewards and exhibitors and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in putting on another successful show.”
