Top gardener has designs on March talk

Award-winning gardener Andy McIndoe will be the guest speaker at the March meeting of the Nidderdale Hardy Planters.

His much anticipated talk will take place next Tuesday (14 March) at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Starbeck, at 7.30pm prompt.

Andy will covering the topic of “Design and Planting” during his talk.

Responsible for 25 consecutive Gold Medal winning exhibits at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Andy was awarded the prestigious Veitch Memorial Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society earlier this year in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the science and practice of horticulture.

Andy’s special interests include hardy shrubs, trees, herbaceous perennials, flower bulbs and garden design and he has authored books on all of these subjects.

He and his wife welcome groups to their two acre naturalistic garden at Sandhill Farm in Hampshire by appointment.

Entry to the talk is £3.
