Timeless classic Little Women on at cinema in Harrogate
A timeless classic and the last of the current Star Wars trilogy are among the family films you can see at Harrogate’s Everyman cinema this week.
In Little Women (U), writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life.
In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms – is both timeless and timely.
Starring Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Little Woman is showing at Everyman Cinema on Thursday (Jan 16) at 11.15am, 1pm, 4.15pm and 7.30pm.
A must for Star Wars fans is also showing the same day.
Rey’s journey continues and the Skywalker saga concludes in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (12A).
The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.
JJ Abrams returns in full force to follow on from The Force Awakens to hopefully answer all the questions looming over Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren ... and some Jedi favourites return. Screenings are at 9.45am, 1.45pm, 4.45pm and 8.15pm.
On Monday (Jan 19), cinema members can also catch Members: The personal history of David Copperfield.
From birth to infancy, from adolescence to adulthood, the good-hearted David Copperfield is surrounded by kindness, wickedness, poverty and wealth, as he meets an array of remarkable characters in Victorian England.
Starring Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie, this is on at 8pm.
