Tadcaster brewery offers £25,000 to community groups after floods

Inspired partly by the dreadful floods in Tadcaster at the end of the year, Heineken has offering local groups access to a £25,000 community fund in Tadcaster - but they have to be quick, the deadline is this Friday, April 29.

Neighbourly.com, the social network for social good, has launched a local funding initiative in partnership with Heineken to support communities local to the company’s site.

In total over £100,000 is initially available for communities local to Heineken’s sites nationally.

Back in January, Heineken pledged £25,000 to help re-connect Tadcaster after its recent floods and a further £25,000 to support local causes.

The company is now using Neighbourly to find and select the projects it can support.

Heineken colleagues working at its Tadcaster Brewery will select the causes they believe to have most benefit to the local community.

Claire Matthews, Corporate Responsibility Manager, Heineken UK said, “Our aim is to make a difference at a local level, but first we need to know how and where we can help.

"We’re asking causes and charities in the Tadcaster area seeking help to register with Neighbourly now so our colleagues can understand what’s needed locally and back the causes they most care about.”
