A spokesperson for Superfast North Yorkshire said: “This is perfect for people who have a LinkedIn profile but aren’t sure exactly what to say and who to say it to. This session will provide you with an invaluable day away from the office and away from technology to sit down and work on your LinkedIn strategy.

“We’ll look at how you should be using LinkedIn to maximise your efforts and produce the best results. This interactive session will give you the opportunity to work with other small businesses on practical exercises to get your creative juices flowing and provide you with plenty of ideas to put into practice on your return to the office.

“As we’ll have a day without computers, we ask that you bring along a print out of your LinkedIn profile to work on during the day. We’ll provide a workbook on the day so other than that, you’ll just need to bring yourself!”

Other full-day masterclasses on Social Media for Business and Search Engine Optimisation will be held at the Cedar Court Hotel in January and February respectively.

The Superfast North Yorkshire business support project is jointly funded by North Yorkshire County Council, BT, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the European Regional Development Fund and aims to help North Yorkshire businesses which are trading predominantly business-to-business and are classed as a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME).

The programme runs until June 2015 so all SMEs, including sole traders and those employing up to 250 people, are encouraged to register for the free support soon.

Anyone can apply to register for the scheme and to check if they would be eligible for support by contacting the SFNY team on 0845 002 0021 or emailing [email protected].

For further information on up-coming events or to find out more about this project, go to www.sfny.co.uk.

In addition to delivering its free business support programme, Superfast North Yorkshire is also tasked with bringing fibre broadband to at least 90 per cent of homes and businesses in the county.
