Storm over a teacup

Taylors of Harrogate is reaching boiling point over another company’s attempts to bring a “Yorkshire Brew” to the shop shelves.

Taylors, which owns Yorkshire Tea, has told Oxford-based company Jeeves & Jericho it must remove the Yorkshire Brew product by Wednesday - or face legal action.

A spokesman for Taylors said the company was simply trying to “protect our name for the future of our business”.

Taylors’ solicitors have written to Jeeves & Jericho with their demands, which Dominic Boyett, director of the rival company, described as “unfair”.

“For them to come along and lay the law down is frustrating,” he said.
