Church News: this Sunday, November 18 there will be a Village Service in All Saints, Staveley at 9.30am followed by Matins at 11am in Copgrove Church. The Staveley Christingle Service this year will be at 4pm on Sunday, December 2.

Table Tennis Marathon: this annual tournament, organised by Ken Barker, will take place this Saturday and Sunday in the village hall. Since its inception the table tennis marathon has raised over £60,000 for many charities at home and abroad. Please call Ken on 01423 340293 for more information or to pledge support for this first class charity fundraiser.

Historical Society: the second meeting of the season will be on Monday, November 19 at 7.30pm in the village hall when the talk will be given by Battlefield Trust member Julian Humphrys who will tell us about The Battle of Flodden which took place in Northumberland in 1513. The committee was very encouraged to see so many people at the first meeting and hope to see this support continuing - new members and visitors are always welcome.

A Yorkshire Christmas Carol: following the Bad Apple Theatre Company’s splendid production of Eddie and the Goldtops earlier this year the village hall committee are delighted to welcome them back with A Yorkshire Christmas Carol in the village hall on Tuesday, December 18. This play is suitable for all the family with Yorkshire humour, carols etc. Tickets are selling fast but there are still a few available from Pam on 01423 340505 or from any committee member.
