Starbeck Community Fund: there is just time to get your application in for the spring round of grants from Starbeck Community fund, the deadline is this weekend. Grants of up to £2,000 are available for Starbeck groups a £200 for individuals. These can be used for equipment,to improve your facility or improve your skills. Starbeck in Bloom Spring Event: this is on Saturday, April 20 at Starbeck Library and on Belmont Field from 10am-noon. This is an event for all the family with craft activities inside the library and bat box and bird box making inside too. Outside there will be a plant stall and inside a big cake stall selling delicious homemade cakes. Refreshments will keep you warm too. Outside there is a bug hunt quiz starting at 10am followed by a real bug hunt at 10.30am to find creepy crawlies that have survived the big freeze! The Brownies will be organising wild flower seed planting near the play area and the cubs will be organising tree whip planting, flower planting and the planting of some fruiting trees for birds to eat. We hope everyone will come along to help and to join in the fun. Andrew Jones MP and the Mayor of Harrogate will be donning their wellies to help too! At noon there will be a big litter pick of Belmont Field to finish the event. Harrogate Biodiversity action group are helping again after the success of the big bird watch in January and the event is part of RHS National Garden Week. Please all come along support Starbeck in Bloom and have fun too.
Starbeck Library Story time: this event is tomorrow Friday, April 5 from 2.30-3.30pm - Library Pants Storytime, come along with the little ones for stories and design a pair of pants, sounds fascinating! It is a free event and there are still a few places.
Safer Neighbourhood: our safer neighbourhood policing team is holding a series of meet the team days in Starbeck Library. The next is Tuesday, April 16 from 10am-1pm followed by one on Saturday, May 4 from 10am-noon .
