Harrogate's Starbeck Gala will be back this year for an afternoon of fun and activities starting at noon on Sunday, August 28.
This year's gala has a packed schedule of entertainment sponsoring Starbeck's Christmas lights, and will be held at the Harrogate Railway FC.
Fiona Sherwood, Committee Secretary says, “I'm hoping to make people aware of the date, also make sure people know that all of the proceeds are going towards the Christmas lights at Starbeck, so it is a charity event.
“There will be a big arena with a long line-up of entertainment. We’ll have the Little Rascals, a pop-star music show, as well as Star Wars characters having a dance-off.
“There will be a small circus show with clowns, and performances from the Dance Academy and the Harrogate Hornets.
“It will really be a fun afternoon.”
Committee Treasurer Phill Brownley says, “We have worked really hard to put together a great line up of entertainment again this year. We’re really pleased that most of our stalls have rebooked, and we’ve got some newcomers to keep visitors busy.
“There will be some fantastic food from the Harrogate Grill, great beer from our local brewery, Daleside, plus the usual refreshments from us, the Gala Committee. Bouncy castles, fair rides, face painters and the mini train will keep the children entertained, and 100% of the profits go towards the Christmas lights, as always.
“We really hope everyone comes along to support this fun family day out.”
Councillor Janet Law, a member of the Gala Committee said, “We are so pleased to be running another Gala this year. Last year’s was a huge success!”
Crowds of thousands will line the streets around Bilton for the start of the traditional parade at 12.30pm.
