Spooky fun set in the woods

A week of ghoulish activities and workshops take place at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate this half-term.

From 10am-4pm daily families can take part in an exciting garden trail through the spooky woodland each day, or get creative with Hallowe’en-themed indoor craft activities.

Creepy craft workshops to make your own bat or spider mobile will run from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, families can hear about the ancient tree spirits in the woods and learn how to make a peace offering to the trees to ensure good luck over Halloween. Sessions run from 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm.

On Sunday November 1, from 11am to 3pm, trained bird ringers from the East Dales Ringing Group will ring and record the birds that call Harlow Carr their home, as well as offering advice on how to attract birds into your own garden.

Families can also visit the brand new hedgehog-friendly garden that has been built at Harlow Carr in partnership with Hedgehog Street.
