Officially re-opening its doors on Friday January 29, Banyan welcomed crowds to enjoy cocktails and canapes in its totally re-faced premises.

The party was joined not only by Harrogate's social butterflies but by celebrity cast members from Emmerdale and the Managing Director of Arc Inspirations - Banyan's parent company.

Martin Wolstencroft, Owner and Managing Director of Arc Inspirations said: “The relaunch of Banyan Bar & Kitchen was a celebration not to be missed. We were delighted to see many familiar faces and wow them with the transformation of the venue, as well as welcome new customers, local businesses and celebrities.

“For me, the new-look Banyan brings an air of sophistication to Harrogate 10 years after we originally launched.

“Yes, the refurbishment has been ambitious, but there’s no doubting it’s impressive. The stylish and genuine Banyan atmosphere is clear from the moment you walk through the door, offering sophisticated socialising for any occasion.”

The sizeable investment has introduced exposed piping, brass-themed furnishing and light fittings, with warm brown leather seating to give the place a nautical feel.

And it seemed everyone on board was ready to test their sea-legs - new drinks to the menu, the Berry Collins, Pistachio Martini and Mango Vanilla Martini were the bar's top selling drinks.

The food menu has also seen a bit of a re-furbishment, with top dishes proving to be the new Energiser breakfast, the chargrilled chicken breast skewer with Mediterranean flatbread, and the Prince’s Trust Burger (25p from the sale of the burger goes to the Princes Trust charity).
