Vicky Sanderson, Central Yorkshire Scouts and Wetherby Media Manager said: “To be selected, Alex, Josh and Lucy faced stiff competition from across their County but their resilience and determination as young people shone through and are now embracing the fundraising challenging facing them.”

“The £3,000 doesn’t just pay for us to go, but also Scouts in other countries who are less fortunate than ourselves but wish to be able to attend, so it is a worthwhile cause,” said Explorer Scout Alex who a member of Unit 37 but also an Explorer Scout of Wetherby Whalers with Josh.

Josh added: “This trip also allows us to meet over 40,000 Scouts from around the world and also offers the chance to develop a variety of skills for life.”

Tom, Assistant Unit Leader of Unit 28 and Assistant Scout Leader at Wetherby Jaguars thanked people and businesses for supporting the event.
