School carol service

Youngsters at Knaresborough’s Forest School held an “uplifting” carol service at the Park Lane facility.

Headteacher Peter Hewitt said the Mayor of Knaresborough Andrew Willoughby and his wife attended along with Bishop James, parents, governors and staff.

“Children sang while Makaton signing, accompanied by the Knaresborough Silver Band,” said Mr Hewitt.

“Bishop James told the pupils how important it was to communicate with others and espcially God at this time of year. He too used Makaton signing to support the children’s understanding of his words.

Bishop James is pictured with pupils at the start of the service.
