School bus crashes into lorry on Empress roundabout in Harrogate

A school bus crashed into a lorry on the Empress roundabout causing major disruption during rush hour this morning (Wednesday, March 16).

A school bus has crashed into a lorry on the Empress roundabout.

The incident, involving a Transdev bus and a Nisa lorry, happened at around 7.50am.

Police arrived at the scene and the roundabout was partially closed for a time and traffic diverted, causing major traffic tailbacks in the Woodlands area.

No children were on the bus as it was not in service at the time.

The driver of the lorry was unhurt, however the driver of the bus was taken to the nearby Harrogate District Hospital with minor injuries.
