Ripon Operatic Society production of musical Oliver! due at Harrogate Theatre

Members of Ripon Operatic Society are preparing to bring the family classic musical Oliver! to Harrogate Theatre for Easter.

Set in Victorian times and based on Dickens’ Oliver Twist, Lionel Bart’s musical adaptation follows the story of a young workhouse orphan who makes a break for the mean streets of London.

There he is taken under the wing of a notorious gang of pickpockets.

The musical follows Oliver’s adventures; an exciting story of how an innocent boy eventually finds love, acceptance and a happy ending.

The cast consists of adults and children who bring to life engaging and inspiring well known numbers such as Food Glorious Food, Oom Pah Pah and Consider Yourself”.

Lively dance routines and a lot of drama will entertain young and old alike.

Suitable for children.

It runs from Wednesday, April 15 to Saturday, April 18, daily at 7.30pm.

There are matinees on the Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm.
