Reading & Leeds Festivals have unveiled American funk-rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliners of Leeds Festival 2016 - and it's a festival exclusive

2016 Leeds Festival headliners - Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer will be taking to the main stage for what promises to be a phenomenal headline set playing tracks from their forthcoming studio album, their 11th.Leeds Festival supremo Melvin Benn said: "I'm thrilled to be able to announce Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliner for Reading & Leeds 2016, as a festival exclusive. Their incredible live show will be an unforgettable headline performance at the UK's biggest music festival. "We’ve still got some really exciting names to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up. It’s going to be our best year yet.”Other acts have also just been announced, undoubtedly the first of many to come. . .The names include: The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, Slaves, Rat Boy, Crossfaith, HINDS and DJ EZ.Tickets are on sale now for both weekend and day.
