Proposals to rebuild the 20th Harrogate Scout Group headquarters have been passed by planners.

The proposed development, which has been designed by Harrogate-based architectural firm GSSArchitecture, will see the current hut replaced with new, modern accommodation.

The new hut on St Mary’s Walk has been designed to host a range of activities.

Godfrey Alderson, trustee of the 20th Harrogate Scout Group, said: “GSSArchitecture have gone to great pains to understand our requirements to come up with a very satisfactory solution.

“We could not have battled our way through all the local authority requirements without their help.”

Jonathan Hunter, partner at GSSArchitecture, said: “We take pride in being able support our local community and giving something back. We have enjoyed working with the Scouts.”
