Presentation event for Harrogate safety dog club

Harrogate Road Safety Dog Training Club held a presentation evening for the handlers and dogs that had successfully completed the Diploma Course, a 14 week basic road safety obedience course and test thereby qualifying for a certificate and rosette.

They were 1st Mrs J Thompson with Marla a Labrador, 2nd Mrs B Rickards with William Yorkshire terrier, 3rd Mrs M Evans with Layla a Golden Retriever, 4th Miss N Marshall with Sheldon a Shihtzu, followed by Mrs J Bowland with Lottie a Cocker Spaniel, Mrs S Osborne with angus a Cockerpoo,

Mrs C Ezard with Poppy a Bishon Frise,

Mrs D Halls with Tilly a Pomchi, Mr L Outhwaite with Louis a French Bulldog, Mr v Saward with Merlin a Springerdoodle, Mr Y Ilia with Dexter a Labrador, Mrs J Plowright with Suggs A German Shepherd X.

When a handler has completed the Diploma Course a further 14 week Medallion Course is available.

This is a far harder course, with more commitment to training needed.

The following handlers successfully completed the course and received their diplomas, 1st Mrs V Budge with Lola a Labrador X, 2nd Mrs C Pollock with Rex, a

Cockerpoo.

The awards were presented by Julia Thompson local representative for Pet Savers, whose aim is to improve the health of pets by relieving the distress and pain caused by diseases for which we currently have no effective treatments.

Julia also received a cheque for £200 to assist the charities hard work, she also gave a short interesting talk about the charity.

Puppy training classes take place on Friday evenings in Harrogate while the obedience classes are held on a Wednesday evening from 7pm at Knaresborough

House.
